About RM Removals: Independent Removals & Storage in Carlisle
Moving Made Easy. We handle it, you relax. Based in Carlisle, we provide methodical, carefully coordinated household moves, commercial relocations, and secure storage across Cumbria, the Eden Valley, and South West Scotland.
Quiet Logistical Competence Across the Border Region
RM Removals is an independent removals, storage, and transport specialist operating from our central hub in Carlisle, Cumbria. Unlike national freight brokers or impersonal parcel networks that pass your consignment between third-party hubs, we manage every stage of your relocation directly.
Whether you are navigating a Victorian red sandstone terraced street in Denton Holme or Stanwix, a multi-storey St Bees sandstone townhouse in Penrith, or a traditional rural steading outside Annan, Dumfries, or Lockerbie, our crew handles the packing, heavy lifting, and transport from door to door.
We specialise in both local House Removals and cross-border removals between Cumbria and South West Scotland. Moving across the border regularly involves bridging the English exchange and completion framework with the Scottish missives and date of entry system. If keys are delayed at 12:00 noon on settlement day or property chains fail to align, we provide calm, flexible vehicle holding and immediate access to our clean, dry, insured storage units.
What Sets Our Operation Apart
- ✓ No Subcontracting: Your furniture stays on our dedicated vehicles with the same experienced crew from collection to unloading.
- ✓ Transparent Quotations: Upfront pricing with no unexpected surcharges for stairs, key waiting delays, or rural mileage.
- ✓ Versatile Fleet Selection: Low-loader Luton vans suited to narrow market town lanes, Disc Zone streets, and gated farm tracks where oversized HGVs cannot turn.
We use waterproof mattress covers, floor runners, and padded furniture blankets to protect your property against Cumbrian and Dumfriesshire rain.
Comprehensive Goods-in-Transit and storage insurance is included as standard on every residential and commercial booking.
Why Homeowners and Businesses Choose RM Removals
Moving home or relocating an office requires practical preparation rather than sales hype. We plan every job around actual street layouts, property thresholds, and your specific timetable.
Local Route & Access Knowledge
From navigating Cumberland Council and Westmorland and Furness Council Disc Parking zones in Carlisle and Penrith to planning M6, A74(M), and A75 trunk transit into Dumfries and Galloway, we conduct advance access checks for tight turning circles, low bridges, and single-track farm lanes.
Careful Packing & Furniture Care
Older sandstone villas, tenement stairwells, and modern suburban estates often feature steep stairs and tight door reveals. Our crew provides complete Furniture Dismantling and Furniture Reassembly alongside our dedicated Full Packing Service.
Bridging Storage & Flexibility
Whether you need short-term bridging storage while waiting for a Scottish date of entry, long-term Household Furniture Storage during renovations, or commercial Archive Storage, our Carlisle facility keeps your items clean, dry, and secure.
We accommodate short-notice, same-day, and Saturday bookings within our stated operating hours.
Practical Moving Services for Every Requirement
Not every move involves a four-bedroom house chain. We structure our vehicles and crew allocations so you only pay for the capacity and labour your move requires:
